Center for Family Success received kids books to give out to their families:


We were invited to Gresham City Hall for the Expo Fair. Books 4 Giving & Gresham Barlow Education Foundation shared a table. We passed out free books & got to meet other community businesses.


Snowcap has received several donations of kids books through out the summer & fall totaling 600 books. Here are some of the books they received:

A summer kids program ran by volunteers received 250 kids books also for the kids to keep & to have in the community room:

Legacy Mount Hood 26th annual Healthy Kids fair was a blast! Passed out 1,500+ books and participated in the other events going on! A karate class & presentation by the kids, making finger casts, face painting, $5 bike helmets, police, fire truck & helicopter tour, nutritious snacks, bouncy slide, surgery on a teddy bear AND SO MUCH MORE! A HUGE nose that sprayed green slimy boogers (water) on the kids to teach them how to wash their hands properly. It was gross & creative!

P.A.L.S. hosted a Back 2 school event & we helped fill 1,000 backpacks with books. PALS & other sponsors provided the school supplies.

Bridgetown had it’s 4th annual book drive to help support Oregon schools that participate in the S.M.A.R.T program. Schools in the program receive free books. We are very grateful they asked us to participate again in the book drive. We donated 800 kids books this time. Bridgetown to date has donated 21,000 books so far.

About Bridge Town Book Drive :
- Supports reading literacy by providing donated books to area schools participating in the SMART reading program
- Recipients: K-6 schools, SMART reading program, VOA Family Programs
- 12,000 books donated to date

7th graders at Gordon Russell Middle School received books from us along with Multnomah County Library summer reading packets to encourage reading during the summer. This was an awesome idea from one of the teachers to do this ;o) Way 2 go!!

Snowcap regularly gets kids books from us for their clients. SnowCap Community Charities, a food pantry providing emergency food baskets to people in East Multnomah County of Oregon. They are a great organization helping many many famlies in the community! Please check them out & help support their events:

HELP NEEDED!! especially SPANISH SPEAKERS!!! We went last yr to help translate & loved it! There was 500+ people & maybe 30ish Spanish speaking volunteers & it was not nearly enough help. This yr only 5 people are helping (including us) =/
Go 2 the website if you can help in any area ( you don’t have to speak Spanish) click on right side “volunteer” Free lunch & childcare too!

Rockwood Cinco De Mayo was a blast! Perfect weather, musica perfecta, free face painting, prizes, food was yummy-$1 tacos, lots of people came out & we got to pass out 800 free kids books =o)
Also there was Gresham Ford, Mount Hood Legacy, Zumba Dancers from Cascade Athletic, Cita Con Nelly, Roseanne’s Hair Salon, Notica’s Latinas, Tales of Abigail, Tri-Met, Multnomah County Library, Human Solutions, Wallace Medical Concern and more!
